I'm incredibly proud to have been involved in two prestigious events now with the amazing Christie Charity in Manchester. For those that are not aware of the work that they do, I would urge you to take a look at their website. They raise vital funds to support The Christie Hospital, the largest Cancer centre in Europe, last year raising over £13 million.
In October 2013, stars from the showbiz & sporting worlds attended the first of these glamorous events at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, raising over £120,000 for The Christie.
There were 60 winning golden tickets hidden amongst the 400 bars I created, each one individually numbered & corresponding with an AMAZING prize! The chocolate 'raffle' bars were sold for £20 I believe & for those not lucky enough to find a golden ticket, they did get to enjoy a scrummy bar of chocolate!
In February 2014, I was approached by JDSports to create branded chocolate bars for their Diamond Ball in aid of the Christie Charity. All 430 bars were individually numbered on the outer wrapper & again each had a prize that had to be collected on presentation of the numbered wrapper.
The artwork reflected the 'diamond' design used on all invitations, programmes, menus etc & again featured logos of both JD Sports & The Christie. Such a striking finished bar with the cellophane gift sleeves for this occasion, raising funds specifically for a new teenage cancer unit.
I've obviously played only a very small part in a massive operation, but to see the celebrities attending, watch the excitement on Twitter when golden tickets were being won, and reading the tweets of people having fun was brilliant! I hope they all loved their chocolate bars.
Most importantly of all there were HUGE amounts of money raised on both evenings & I'm proud to have played a small role in helping that happen.
